Do hands really matter?

Since the beginning of Covid, everyone truly understands the importance of good hand hygiene throughout the day. Well……one of the disadvantages of this great habit is the wear that it brings to the skin of your hands. Washing your hands multiple times a day causes dehydration to the skin and this can lead to early stages of wrinkling. Everyone sees our hands. It is one of the most visible areas of our bodies. It is a great indicator of our TRUE AGE. Therefore, it is important to properly care for our hands. Here are some tips on how to do this:

1. Exfoliating your hands and use a moisturizer daily to minimize wrinkles and dryness of the hands. The more you moisturize after washing your hands, the more you protect them.

2. Minimize sun exposure to your hands. This is a basic one. Make sure that you place SPF on those hands every time you go outside. This will minimize the sun spots on your hands too. Therefore, its a win-win.

3. Wearing gloves while washing the dishes, cleaning the house with abrasive chemicals, and while gardening. The gloves actually protect your hands from the chemicals in the soap, any potential irritation from gardening and mostly from the loss of moisture.

4. Hydration. This seems basic but so many of us forget about this. Making sure we drink enough water (with electrolytes) will keep our skin (and the cells) hydrated and looking young.

Now – we have the capabilities of decreasing the appearance of those wrinkles on the hands and giving our hands a boost of collagen and elastin by placing Custom Dermal Fillers into the hands. How is this done? We draw your blood, place it in a centrifuge, then into a heating device. This takes your PRP and converts it to your very own custom dermal filler. Then we place this filler into the tops of your hands. This gives you immediate results of smoother hands with a glowing effect. This is done once a year. The procedure takes one hour. There is no downtime. Your hands will look smoother, brighter, and younger!
